Joann Marilyn Hunter Williams was born December 13, 1935 in Rocky Ford, Colorado, the second of three daughters to Edgar L. and Stella M. (Rector) Hunter. Joann lived in and attended school in Collins, Missouri throughout her childhood. She met her future husband when he took his mother grocery shopping in Joann’s family’s grocery store in 1948. Joann and Virgil (Tuffy) (Buck) married on July 5, 1951 in Osceola, Missouri. Joann and Virgil moved to Kansas City where she stayed at home caring for her three children and husband until the family relocated to Osceola in 1970.
After moving to Osceola Joann worked at Pasley sale barn and later for Wald Fireworks in Vista, Missouri. Joann enjoyed bowling and playing cards and volunteering at the McCarty Senior Center in Wheatland, Missouri. She was also a member of the Gerster Baptist Church.
Joann was preceded in death by her parents in 1979 and 1990; son Robert, September 2015 and grandson Brian Raymond, February 1, 2016.
She is survived by her husband, Virgil; daughters Vicky Jean Raymond and her husband Leroy, Sandra Sue Bauer and husband Charles; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; sisters, Joyce Walsh and Judy Redinger and husband Jack; two sisters-in-law and their families; and many friends.
