Kenneth “Ken” Ray Wishon (86) of Kansas City, MO passed away Monday January 17, 2022. Ken was born 03/05/1935 to Pearl and Custer Wishon in Low Gap, AR.

He married Jackie Wishon on November 6, 1954 and they built a family together. They had two children Kenneth “Joe” and Mark Wishon. They enjoyed caravan camping trips with family across the United States and Canada. Always bringing along motorcycles and dirt bikes to ride through the countryside.  Ken always enjoyed being in nature and sharing those experiences with his loved ones. He was a proud dad attending Joe’s baseball games and Mark’s football games. As their boys grew up and started families of their own, Ken and Jackie still enjoyed taking road trips to see family and friends across the country.

Ken’s career was spent at the American Can Company starting in 1952 and he retired in 1999. He was a union machinist and enjoyed his 47 years at American Can. As an avid Kansas City sports fan, he also enjoyed over 10 years working security during Royals and Chiefs games.

In retirement, Ken enjoyed spending as much time as he could with his kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids teasing them about graduating from the “School of Hard Knocks” and making sure he was always the funniest person in the room. He also enjoyed working in his yard, going to the boat, and watching his Royals finally win another World Series and his Chiefs win the Superbowl.

Ken was loved by many people in his life. He was preceded in death by his wife Jackie, son Joe, and brother Bill. He is survived by many who love and will miss him deeply including his son, Mark, Kim, Barb, Kimberly, Matt, Jesi, Emy, Chad, Joseph, Victoria, Essien, Hanley, Merek, Ethan, and Hank.
