Colleen Fern Wisner was born June 17, 1986, and passed away April 2, 2023, doing what she loved – driving a tractor on a beautiful spring day. Throughout her 36 years on this earth, she was loved beyond measure by her family and friends. She fiercely loved her two sons, Hunter and Kyler, who were the most important people in her life.
Born to Curtis L. and Lucinda F. (Meloy) Wisner, Colleen was the first grandchild of John F. and Luella F. (Gardner) Meloy and the only girl grandchild of Pawle and Juanita (Smith) Wisner.
Colleen attended Osceola Public Schools, graduating in 2004. She was FFA Chapter President, active in NHS, and school play, and a standout on the basketball team. She went on to earn her American Farmer degree in 2005.
Colleen went to State Fair Community College for her Associate’s degree in Custom Application. Her college jobs were at a livestock auction and in trailer sales/repairs.
She made a career out of her love for farming and agriculture. She started working at Cook’s Tractor in 2016, and through hard work and ingenuity rose to her current position as a Rebuild Shop Manager.
Previously, she had worked at Producers Livestock Auction. She also drove a school bus for Apple Bus Company and trained as a butcher at Countryside Market.
Colleen started and built the TeamKids program at Vista Baptist Church, working tirelessly to develop the program into a thriving part of the church’s ministry and outreach. She also served there as VBS Director. She was baptized in 2010 and attended Vista Baptist Church much of her life.
She leaves behind her sons, Hunter and Kyler, parents Curtis and Lucinda, brother and wife Dan and Shelby, nieces Lydia Rose, and Lyla Fern, nephew Truman Daniel, grandparents John F. and Luella F. Meloy, aunts and uncles Regina and Mark Brownlee, Kevin and Sharon Wisner, Mark and Julie Meloy, Christy and Dave Beck, cousins, friends, and co-workers.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6
