Orvella May Wood was born July 31, 1926 in Independence, Missouri to Walter A. and Edda (Coleman) Carriker. She passed away March 11, 2012 at Big Springs Care Center, Humansville, Missouri.
On April 12, 1946 in Olathe, Kansas, Orvella was united in marriage to John Ollie Wood. They lived in Kansas City, MO until John retired in 1976 and moved back to rural Osceola, Missouri area, that they loved so much.. This union of 61 beautiful years was blessed with three children, Kay, Steven and Robin.
During the time the family lived in Kansas City Orvella worked at Sunshine Biscuit from 1955 to 1963. She loved to read, fish and attend auctions. She and John spent everyday together either going to auctions or fishing in their lake. She enjoyed their dog, Bill and her cats.
Orvella was preceded in death by her loving husband, John on September 27, 2007, their daughter Kay Rodabaugh on October 4, 1987, her parents, 1 brother and 2 sisters.
She is survived by 2 sons, Steven M. Wood and wife, Peggy, Grain Valley, MO and Robin J. Wood and wife Patti, Collins, MO., 12 grandchildren, Terry Rodabaugh, Pam Bartz, Joe Wathen, Mary Bedsworth, Diane Champ, Tonya Ramel, Stefanie Kaylor, chrissy Morrison, Adam Wood, Jessie Whitlock, Dustin Silvers, Mario Guerrero, 28 great grandchildren, and 3 great great-grandchildren, 1 brother, 4 sisters, other relatives and friends.
