Richard “Dick” Alan Young, age 73, of Osceola, MO passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at Truman Lake Manor Nursing Home in Lowry City, MO.
Dick was born February 26, 1942 in Kansas City, MO, to Willis and Mary (Cavender) Young.
Dick graduated from Raytown High School in 1960. In 1978 Dick met Dorothy Mills and they were united in marriage on January 26, 1980. His working career consisted of being an insurance salesman while living in the Kansas City area. In 1990 Dick and Dorothy purchased land in St. Clair County and began a life in the Osceola area. Together they started the “Quad-States Medical Specialties” business which was located in downtown Osceola. Upon retirement in 2006 Dick and Dorothy enjoyed time spent together at their home in the country.
Dick was an avid baseball fan and his all time favorite team was the KC Royals, of course.
Dick was well known and well liked by everyone that met him. He was a gentleman’s–gentleman, very caring, and he definitely loved life.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Willis and Mary Young.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy of the home, his brother Rodger Young, sons Greg Lynch and Jeff Lynch; his stepchildren John Mills and Esther (Dennis) McHaney, seven grandchildren, Hunter, Houston, Tanner, Grayson, John Michael, Elizabeth and Eric. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and many, many friends.
