Abel David Jones (Dave), age 53, of El Dorado Springs passed away at Mercy Hospital of Springfield on Thursday, January 16, 2014. Dave was born in Eminence, Missouri August 26, 1960 to John William Jones and Elsa Carole (Mead) Jones, one of thirteen children. Dave’s family moved to Wray, Colorado when he was a young child, and he grew up there on the ranch in Wray. He loved horses and the farm life there with his family. The family moved to their farm in El Dorado Springs when Dave was 18 years old. Dave remained in the El Dorado Springs area for the rest of his life. Dave spent most of his adult life as a carpenter and general contractor. He loved to play golf, tennis, snooker, pool, cards, and was extremely competitive at any game. In 1989 he married Kim (Watson) Jones. To this union four children were born, Amanda Simpson and Jeremy, Jessica, and Rachel Jones. Dave loved his children and was very proud of every one of them. He loved to talk to anyone who would listen about what they were up to. He also loved playing golf, cards or whatever he could convince them to play with him. Dave was preceded in death by his parents John W. Jones and Elsa C. Jones, and infant brother Mark. He is survived by his four children, Amanda Simpson (23) and husband Josh of Kansas City, KS, Jeremy (21) of Joplin, Mo, Jessica (19) also of Joplin, and Rachel (15) of El Dorado Springs, Eleven siblings; John W. Jones Jr, Daniel Jones, James Jones, Sharon Flesher and Christa Smith, all of El Dorado Springs, Deborah Williams, Buffalo, MO, Candy Schweitzer, Trenton, MO, Jonathon Jones and Rebecca Jones Springfield, MO, Elijah Jones, Phoenix, AZ, and Virginia Labounty, Tiberias, Israel.
