Bowman, Virginia L May 1, 1931 - October 3, 2019

Virginia Louise Bowman was born on May 1, 1931 in Chilhowee, MO to Raleigh F. and Pearl E. (Walrath) Smith.  She passed away in the morning of October 3, 2019 at Community Springs Nursing Home of El Dorado Springs, MO at the age of 88.

She lived in Missouri all her life, spending the last 7 years at Community Springs Nursing Home in El Dorado Springs.  In her younger days, she worked at Hallmark Cards in Kansas City, MO and later at Cedar County Memorial Hospital as a nurse’s aide.

On July 8, 1949 she was united in marriage to James A. Bowman.  They shared 56 years together before Jim’s passing in April of 2005.  To this union four children were born, James A. Jr., Anita K, Donnie R. and Patti A.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Bowman, Sr., her parents, Raleigh and Pearl (Walrath) Smith, son, Jim Bowman, Jr., daughter, Patti A. Bowman, brother, David F. Smith, daughter-in-law Kathy (Hamilton) Bowman, grandson Dustin Schell, great grandson Alex Boonyakiti as well as many other in-laws, nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her daughter, Anita K, Schell and husband Dale of Roscoe, MO, son, Donnie R. Bowman and wife Myra of El Dorado Springs, MO, grandchildren Eddie Hyde, Jr. and wife Paula of Claremore, OK, Bridget Sanderson and Clint Trevarthen of El Dorado Springs, MO, D.J. Bowman and wife Ellen of Raytown, MO, Amanda Bowman of Nevada, MO, Rylee Bowman of El Dorado Springs, MO, Karri Vickers and husband Justin of Nevada, MO, Adam Rodgers and wife Ashley of El Dorado Springs, MO, Damon Schell of Montrose, MO, Darren Schell of Appleton City, MO, James Bowman, Sara Bowman and Jacob Bowman, great grandchildren Hailee Sanderson, Avery Hyde, Easton Hyde, Leila Shaw, Nick Schell, Chris Schell, Colby Schell,  Michael Boonyakiti, Chance Bain, Avery Rodgers, Alexa Rodgers and Aubrey Rodgers.
