Ruby Jean Sherman was born to Luther Sherman and Ethel (Hutton) Sherman April 1, 1940. She passed away February 4, 2019 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.
She graduated from Osceola High School in 1957. Ruby spent her entire life in St. Clair County except for a short time in Kansas City. On June 28, 1957 she married James S. Brownlee. This union was bless with 3 children, Mark Alan, Michael Lynn and Marla Leann.
Ruby worked in the St. Clair County Courthouse for a short time for Judge Gertrude Sadler. She was a homemaker and later a caregiver for her mother and more recently for her son, Mike. Ruby worked in Republican politics for several years. She had been a delegate to several republican presidential conventions and had me numerous presidents and first ladies. She also worked in the booth at the state fair numerous times. Ruby dedicated her life to the Lord and helping anyone who was sick or hurting.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Joan Noakes
Ruby is survived by her children, Mark Brownlee and wife Regina, Mike Brownlee; Marla Gibbens and husband Larry; grandchildren, James M. Brownlee (Jamie), Larry W. Brownlee (Christi), Nathan Brownlee (Shelby), Tanner and Conner Gibbens; 3 great grandchildren, Braxton, Brooklyn and Brhett Ann Brownlee; two sisters, Anna Lee Creek (Bill) and Winnie Wood (Dwight) along with nieces, nephews and many friends.
