Paula Carroll, 93, passed from this life into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, July 19, 2017. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on May 22, 1924 to Alfred and Marion (Cripe) Weis.
She grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Paula attended Milwaukee State Teachers College and graduated from Drury College in Springfield, Missouri.
Paula was united in marriage to Ray Carroll on February 9, 1947 in Osceola, Missouri. They enjoyed more than 61 years together until his passing in 2008.
Paula taught for 25 years in the Osceola School System, mostly music. She also worked several years for Dr. Todd and was actively involved in the Osceola Church of the Brethren serving as a pianist, organist, Sunday school teacher and deacon. Paula had a positive influence on others because of her love for the Lord. She also enjoyed visiting with former students as she saw them around town after her retirement.
In addition to her husband and parents, Paula was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret “Peg” Spiller.
She is survived by her sister, Donna (Wayne) Kegel of Spooner, Wisconsin; children Pat Greife of Clinton, Missouri, Donald (Donita) Carroll of South Bend, Indiana and Dennis (Marilyn) Carroll of Stillwater, Oklahoma; grandchildren Pam (Mike) Coffman, Jenny Wilson, David (Amy) Carroll, Sarah (Mike) Knorr, Rachel (Mike) Horchler, Vicki (Matt) Hubbard, Sheila (David) Cosgrove; 16 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
