David Leslie Perkins, was born October 3, 1942 in Roscoe, Mo to Nina Marie Barger and Otis “Buford” Perkins. David passed to his eternal resting home on July 17, 2017.
. David attended Roscoe Elementery school and graduated in 1960 from Osceola, Mo. Where he had been an active participant in the FFA program and served as President of the Chapter his Senior year. FFA was a program he was very dedicated to and enjoyed.
After high school, he began working at the El Dorado Springs shoe factory. It was there that he met Nadine Anderson. They were united in marriage on July 6, 1962.
David served in the U. S. Amry as a Sergant in the 534th Military Police at Fort Clayton, Canal Zone, Panama. He later drove a truck delivering groceries for El Dorado Wholesale, delivering furniture for Hertzberg Furniture in El Dorado Springs and gas for Stewart Gas of Montevallo. Davids greatest joy was raising cattle.
David was a member of the Roscoe Christian Church all of his life and joined the Masonic Circle Lodge 342 of Roscoe, Mo in the early 80’s.
Davids greatest joy was his daughter Kelly who blessed him with three grandsons whom he was very proud. When the boys were little you would see David driving around with them in the truck feeding the cattle or going to town to have a hamburger. His oldest grandson followed in his footsteps by joining FFA and becoming the Chapter President during his own senior year. David was proud of his grandsons and the fine young men they were becoming; they were the light of his life.
Survivors include his wife, Nadine, of 55 years, one daughter Kelly Renee, three grandsons and one granddaughter; Logan Reid and Alexis Dawn, Conner Ryley and Rance Daivian of Carthage, Mo as well as three sisters-in-laws Darline Winningham, Golden City, Mo; Lorraine Sanders of Arlington, Texas; Patsy Baker of El Dorado Springs; one brother-in-law Andrew Anderson of Nevada; three aunts, Dorene Hiestand and her husband Wayne; Delores Barger of Greely, Colorado and Margie Barger of El Dorado Springs; and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Preceding David in death were his parents Buford and Nina Perkins, Parents in-laws Raymond and Lola Anderson, sister Kathy, an infant brother, brothers in-law Gerald Winnningham, Richard Sanders and Bill Baker; nephew John Winningham and several other family and close friends.
