Mark Charles Cleveland was born on September 1, 1944, in Osceola, MO to Vernon Grover and Amy Beatrice (Barnes) Cleveland. After a long battle with Primary Progressive Aphasia, Mark passed on to his heavenly home on Thursday, April 30, 2020. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at a young age. In 1972, he re-dedicated his life and was baptized.

He attended Osceola schools, graduating in 1962. Following high school, he attended CMSU where he earned a Bachelors Degree.  Mark fulfilled his military obligation with the Missouri Army National Guard serving from 1965-1971.
Mark was a Civil Engineer Technician with the US Army Corps of Engineers, retiring after 30 years of service. After retirement, he was a real estate agent with Stewart & Kiefer Realtors. Early in Mark’s work career, he was a machine operator for a road construction company, a U. S. Postal Service worker, and Co-owner/operator of Osceola Manufacturing Co.

On April 21, 1973, Mark and Patricia Sink were united in Holy Matrimony. Two daughters, whom he believed to be his greatest blessings, were born to this union, Amanda Kim and Sarah LaVerne. These blessings continued with the addition of two sons-in-law: Ryan Jones (Mandi) and Cody Campbell (Sarah) , and seven grandchildren: Quinten, Sabrina, and Jocelyn Jones; Caden, Cyrus, Brinley, and Colton Campbell. Mark was a loving, caring dad, and an awesome granddad. He took great joy in creating and building things for the grandkids.
Growing up in Osceola, Mark developed a love of the outdoors at an early age. This love continued throughout his lifetime. As an avid sportsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and playing baseball and basketball. He enjoyed watching and cheering on his kids, grandkids, nieces, and nephews. Some of his most beloved times were on his bass boat, in the woods, and in fields with his bird dogs. As a man who liked to be active, he always had multiple projects on which he was working. Whether he was building, repairing things, training his bird dogs, hunting, fishing or golfing, he enjoyed being busy every minute.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law LaVerne Sink, father-in-law Ted Sink, sister-in-law Betty Ray Long, nephew Jon David Long, and nephew John Gifford .

He is survived by his wife, Pat, of the home; children and grandchildren of Springfield; sister, Mary Atchison (Dale), Lowry City; sisters-in-law, Lindal Gibbens, Kim Burton (Mike), Beth Garrison (Monty), Osceola, Teddie Farnsworth (Ed), Overland Park, KS;
