Brooksie Mae (Hubbard) Cooper was born April 23, 1921 in rural Lathrop, Missouri to Virgil and Callie (Smith) Hubbard. She passed away June 24, 2018 surrounded by family in Cameron, Missouri.
She attended grade school at Brooking and graduated in 1939 from Lathrop High School. She married Donald Emsley Cooper October 21, 1941. This union was blessed with 4 children. Don and Brooksie started their family while living at Elmira, Missouri, where Gary, Larry and Sue were born. Don and Brooksie moved their family to rural Lathrop, Missouri where Carol was born. In 1957 they bought a farm near Cameron, Missouri where they spent their remaining years.
Brooksie and Don were members of the Prairie Ridge Christian Union Church of rural Polo, Missouri. When they moved to Cameron they became members of the First Baptist Church of Cameron, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Donald Cooper; parents, Virgil and Callie Hubbard; brothers, Fred, Herbert, Lowell, Jack, Raymond and Bill Hubbard; sisters, Mary Eunice Hubbard, Bertha Grady and Bonnie Fry; daughter-in-law, Coralie (Carson) Cooper; grandson, Gregory Cooper and son-in-law, David Lynn Stollings
Brooksie is survived by 2 sons, Gary Cooper and wife Sandy of Kansas City, Missouri, Larry Cooper and wife Monica of Kansas City, Missouri; 2 daughters, Sue Coy of Cameron, Missouri and Carol Stollings of Osceola, Missouri; 13 grandkids, 20 great-grandkids; 1 brother, James Hubbard of Cameron, Missouri and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
