Betty was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on February 15, 1936, five minutes after her twin brother Bobby, to Benjamin Harrison and Susie Genevieve Francis Huckstepp Bowman. Betty attended school at the McNutt and Short one room school houses; she also attended Lowry City and Clifton City schools. On August 26, 1955, in Clifton City, she was married to James Andrew Crawford. Early in their marriage Betty and Jim lived in the Windsor area, before moving to rural El Dorado Springs in 1969. Betty was a homemaker and she loved to cook for her family and the many visitors that they had in their home throughout the years. One of the most sought after items at family reunions was a piece of “Aunt Betty’s Blackberry Cobbler”. Betty was a very kind and gentle soul; she had a loving and generous heart, and was always giving to others. She enjoyed playing cards, watching game shows & soap operas, working word puzzles, and enjoying the outdoors; but most of all she loved spending time with her family. In addition to her husband of 57 ½ years, she is survived by a daughter, Diana Quick, and her special friend, Joe, of El Dorado Springs; two sons, Jim (Junior), and his wife, Diane, of El Dorado Springs, and Darryl, and his companion, Kelly, of Roscoe; 6 grandchildren, Doug Crawford; Angie Jones, and her husband Timmy, Bryan Crawford, and his wife Kathy, Cliff, Logan, and Danny Lee; four great granddaughters, Makayla, Morgan, and Madison Jones, and Tiffany Crawford; and two great grandsons, Jon Mart and Skylar Crawford; three brothers, Virgil Bowman, of Belton, Charles Bowman, of Purdy, and Bobby Bowman, of Odessa; numerous other loving family, friends and her beloved dog, Fred. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Ray Gene, her grandson, Justin Michael, and son in-law, Alfred Quick, five sisters, Martha Lowrey, Maudie Smith, Dorothy Hymer, Suzanne Crawford and JoAnn Brewer; and four brothers, Ben Bowman, Jim Bowman, Richard Bowman, and Tom Bowman.
