Paul Benjamin Dresch, age 81, of El Dorado Springs, Missouri, formerly of Independence, Missouri passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Tuesday evening, July 13, 2021. Paul was born on April 28, 1940 in Highland, Illinois.
Paul married Marilyn on December 16, 1961 at Richards Gebaur Air Force Base in Missouri. They made their home in Independence, Missouri. He retired from General Motors, Leeds Plant and Shreveport, Louisiana after 29 years. Paul and Marilyn moved to El Dorado Springs, Missouri in 2004 to enjoy their retirement years.
He enjoyed many years of camping, fishing and hunting with family and friends. Many deer camp stories that he enjoyed telling with his sons. Paul and Marilyn enjoyed many weekends going to Bluegrass Festivals. His phone was his pipeline to family and friends to see what they were up to. He didn’t allow his supply of peppermint candy to ever run out. While living in Independence Paul and Marilyn would have their grand children over for sleepovers where the kids would eat popcorn, watch movies and sing and dance to the Macarena. Over the years many memories have been made in their home for birthdays, Christmas, Thanksgiving and summer getaways.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Morris Dresch (Wood River, IL) and Luell Dresch (South Roxana, IL), father and mother-in-law Martin and Nellie E. Ray (Muscotah, KS), sister-in-law Elizabeth Ray, brother-in-law Chuck Wagner, great niece Nicole Torkelson.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn Ray Dresch of the home, sons Troy Dresch of Kansas City, Missouri, Tracy (Debbie) of Independence, Missouri, daughter Terri Dresch of El Dorado Springs, Missouri, friend David Starbuck, brothers Jerry (Judie) Dresch of Lakeview, Arkansas, William (Mary Jo) Dresch of South Roxanna, Illinois, sisters Sandi Wagner of Alton, Illinois, Eva Garcia of California, brother-in-law John Ray of Holton, Kansas, grandchildren Matthew and Mitchell Dresch of Kansas City, Missouri, Brittany Waughtal of Harrodsburg, Kentucky, fiancé Jamie Long, Lauren Dresch of Springfield, Missouri, friend Josh Robinson, Nellie Dresch of El Dorado Springs, Missouri, great grandchildren Kyleigh Waughtal and Kaitlyn Byrd of Harrodsburg, Kentucky as well as many nieces and nephews.
