Mildred Ernestine (Settle) Durbin was born in Lowry City, Missouri on March 16, 1926 to Ernest A. and Ola B. Settle. She passed away in Lee’s Summit, Missouri on November 20, 2017.
She attended school and graduated from Lowry City High School in 1944. Ernestine married Gillis M. Durbin on May 25, 1946. They were married over 50 years until his death in 1997. They had 3 children, Karen, Barbara (died at birth) and John.
They loved to travel and vacationed every year. After Gillis’ death, she continued to travel as much as possible.
After retiring from jobs in Kansas City and going back to Osceola, Mo., she joined First Baptist Church of Osceola and was a member there until her death.
She leaves behind her daughter Karen Comer (husband – Rick), her son John Durbin (wife – Jane), her granddaughter Sarah Roberts (husband – Donnie), her great grandson Elliot Roberts, her granddaughter Rachel Burch (husband – Tim), a “soon to be born” great grandson Baby Burch, two sisters-in-law and many, many nieces and nephews.
