Vonnie Powell (Pat) Engelhardt died at home October 29, 2023. He was 86 years, 9 months, and 16 days old. Born in Pleasant Hill, MO January 14, 1937 to Harold Franklin Engelhardt and Wilma May (Coffin) Engelhardt, one of 4 boys.
He married Peggy Marie Insall January 24, 1959 in Pasadena, Texas. They met when she was in Kansas City the first part of October 1958 finishing an airline training course. They had a whirlwind courtship until she left for New York City the first of November to work as a ticket agent for National Airlines at Idlewild (JFK) Airport. They wrote almost daily, talked on the phone often, and after about 2 1/2 months, she left the job to return to Pasadena where they were married. They were married 64 years, 9 months, and 5 days.
He is survived by his wife Peggy, 2 sons, Darryl Wayne and wife Nancy, Carl Ray and wife Kris, 5 grandchildren, Lori Robinson and husband Matt, Denise Sutton and husband Brett, Andrea Pavey and husband Chris, Greg Engelhardt and wife Erynne, and Hannah Mathis and husband Kory, 8 great-grandchildren, brother Rick and wife Wanda Engelhardt, sister-in-law Helen Helm, brother-in-law Gene Insall and wife Bessie, and numerous nieces and nephews.
