Assembly Of God Church

Osceola, Missouri

On November 1st, 2023, Sylvia Davis bid this world farewell, with her family by her side. She was an amazing woman, a devoted wife, a supportive mother and grandmother, and a tireless friend to many. Never one to be the center of attention, if we said nothing more, she’d be more than satisfied with the previous line.

Growing up in Claycomo, Missouri, a tight knit family was always a prominent fixture and something that she would keep with her for the remainder of her life.

Sylvia married A Joe and moved to Lowry City, Missouri, where they laid down roots and started their family. The Lord blessed Sylvia with son after son after son. After 3 sons were born, and Sylvia never getting that daughter she wanted, the family was complete. Until it wasn’t. Son number 4 later arrived and finally completed the family (again).

Aside from working with her husband A Joe on the Missouri Chigger, Sylvia loved working elsewhere in her spare time. She never really cared about the money as much as she did the community. She always fondly remembered her time helping at the Landmark Restaurant and had fun stories of her time there, both of the staff and the community that they served.

Sylvia was known and loved by many families and friends. She was kind to all that knew her, with many other children referring to her affectionately as “mom” but also quick to stand up and tell you when you were wrong (just like she did her own children)! She enjoyed spending as much time as she could at her home “the farm”, cuddled up with a pet and some sci-fi movies. Always quick to invite the family out for a day of fishing, Sylvia would always make sure that everyone was well fed and had a cold drink! Her and her brother Dave loved nothing more than an impromptu fish fry, after a successful day of fishing, though catching the fish was always someone else’s job.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents (Edgar and Lois Geisinger), her brothers: (David, Kenneth, and Keith Geisinger), and her son (Rick Davis).

Sylvia is survived by her loving husband A Joe Davis, Her stepson Jon Michael Davis, son Isaac Jeremy Davis and his wife Christy Davis and their children Kristin (and husband Kaleb), Kimberly (and husband Eric), Hunter, Makayla, Jimmy (and wife Katie), and Chris (wife Alissa). Son Jeff Davis and his son Jacob Davis, son Tim Davis and his wife Mishawn Davis and their children Jordan, Lucas, and Kymira, sister Cindy Carroll, many nieces, nephews, cousins, great-grandchildren, and numerous friends.

We will all miss you Sylvia in our own ways.  She is no longer in pain, and hopefuly , the Lord has enough to keep her busy until she gets to see her family again.
