Roma Evelyn Foster, age 84, of Osceola, MO, passed away October 15, 2010 at her home. She was born March 6, 1926 in Osceola, MO to James Robert and Gladys Iona (Kelley) Wetzel.
She attended Osceola school and graduated in the class of 1944. She began working at Shelby’s Five and Ten while in high school. She was married to Andrew Jackson Oyler on August 17, 1945 and to this union one child, Marilyn Joyce, was born . She worked the telephone switchboard in Osceola in the late 1940’s for Strat Johnson. In the early 1950’s she began working for Dr. Todd at the Osceola Hospital. In 1955 Dr. Giesler and later Dr. Thies. She retired from Tri-County Clinic in 1995.
Roma was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include, daughter, Marilyn, two granddaughters, Grace Cumley and Joyce Kilgore and two great grandsons, Avery Kilgore and Cord Cumley, numerous cousins and friends.
Roma was well known as a practical joker. She loved telling funny stories and jokes to everyone. Roma was a avid artist and enjoyed painting and drawing. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and crocheting in her spare time. Roma liked people and never met a stranger. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Osceola, MO.
