Shirley Ann Miller Goans was born October 7, 1935 in Waynesville, Missouri to J.C. Miller and Wanda Brown Miller. She departed this life August 23, 2010 at Truman Lake Manor, Lowry City, Missouri.
Shirley graduated high school in Bolivar, Missouri in 1953, following high school she worked for the telephone office in Bolivar and also was a waitress at a local truck stop in Bolivar where she met her future husband Bill Goans.
In 1963 Shirley married Bill and they settled in the Talley Bend area for 45 years. Later they moved into Lowry City in 2008. To this union two children were born, Mary Ann and Marla Jo. Shirley was a homemaker in her early years of marriage, then in 1971 began working at Community Care Center now known as Truman Lake Manor. She continued to work there for 35 years until her health forced her to retire.
During her retirement Shirley enjoyed watching country music videos and the Kansas City Royals on TV. even when they were losing. She also enjoyed playing Bingo at VFW in Clinton.
Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, Bill and her parents J.C. and Wanda Miller.
She is survived by her two daughters Mary and husband Mike Harris of Lowry City, Missouri and Marla and husband Robert Driskill of Deepwater, Missouri; two granddaughters, Erin Driskill Aguilar and husband Michael of Manhattan, Kansas and Carrie Harris of Lowry City, Missouri; three grandsons, Tim Harris of Clinton, Missouri, Brandon Harris and wife Chelsea of Harrison, Arkansas and Andy Driskill, serving in the military in Iraq; two great grandchildren, Indy and Cooper Harris; two sisters, Juanita Welch and husband R.S. of Bolivar, Missouri and Beverly Cloyd of Bolivar, Missouri along with many nieces and nephews.
