McLerran, Nicholas Ivan February 2, 1922 - August 23, 2010

Nicholas Ivan McLerran was born February 2, 1922 in Harper, Missouri to Cull and Myrtle (Harper) McLerran. He passed away August 23, 2010 at his home near Harper, Missouri.

On October 16, 1942 Ivan was sworn into the United States Army where he served his country for 3 years, 1 month and 3 days and he remembered every one of them. During his service her served in Australia, New Guinea, Gusap, the East Indies and the Philippines hauling supplies to the front line.

On July 15, 1950 Ivan was united in marriage to Esther Mae Hearn near Harper, Missouri. This union was blessed with 3 sons and 2 daughters. They made their home in the Harper community for 60 years.

Ivan had farmed his whole life. When he wasn’t farming, Ivan had worked for St. Clair County Road and Bridge for 17 years. In younger years he worked for the H. Roe Bartle Boy Scout Camp in Iconium driving a truck.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Cull and Myrtle McLerran; 1 sister, Inez Corbin; 2 brothers, Clester and Ira McLerran; 2 granddaughters and 1 grandson.

Ivan is survived by his wife, Esther (Hearn) McLerran, of the home; 3 sons, Nicky Ray McLerran and wife Darlene of Nemo, Missouri, Curtis Lee McLerran and wife Marla of Cleveland, Missouri, Rodney Joe McLerran and wife Kenya of Osceola, Missouri; 2 daughters, Donna Faye (McLerran) Hooper and husband Greg of Osceola, Missouri, Lesia Deann (McLerran) Doolin and husband Barry of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; 1 sister, Carolena (McLerran) Anderson of Harper, Missouri; 1 brother, Dewey McLerran of Donal, Missouri; 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
