Gordon, Ernest L June 6, 1953 - August 12, 2010

Ernest Lee Gordon was born June 6, 1953 in Osceola, Missouri to Emmett L. and Betty J. (Cleveland) Gordon. He passed away August 12, 2010 in Warsaw, MO. Ernie graduated from Osceola High School in the class of 1971. He also attended two years at CMSU in Warrensburg, MO. His working years were spent with the railroad, working in car dealerships, selling real estate and restoring houses for sale. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Raytown, MO. People most remember Ernie for the fun-loving time he had and the way he enjoyed life. Some of the pranks he pulled would be considered very unlawful today, such as gathering up the stop signs from around Osceola and putting them at the highway barn for them to redistribute. Probably following the local police around the square and calling him, “Daddy” would be offensive to law enforcement. However, Ernie always wanted to have fun out of life. Talking to him about where he lived and experiences of his everyday life were always enjoyable, since he had pet names for people he came into contact with. At one time he lived next to Dump Truck Man, and one of his best friends had the name Round Boy! When small he really loved his sister’s favorite “recipe”, mud pies, made with real mud out of the barn lot. After he retired out of the city, he came to Keithley Beach outside of Warsaw where he met Lori and enjoyed spending time and traveling with her. With his extra time, he went on a mission to get rid of squirrels that were robbing him and training Donna May in the art of squirrel hunting—quite a partnership! Being in the Shrine was also a passion and he became secretary. When asked if he ever had any business, he had a standard answer: “No”. Ernie was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. He is survived by one son, Eric, of California; one sister and husband, Wanda and Dale Raymond, Osceola, Mo; special friend, Lori Quatrocky, Warsaw, MO; two nieces, Shelly Mazurek and Tracy Daulton, both of Osceola, MO, one nephew, Jason Raymond, Lowry city and numerous other relatives and friends.
