Gladys Marie (Cox) Harper died peacefully with loved ones in attendance at home on October 29, 2020 in Urich, Missouri at the age of 92.

She is survived by her children Clint Harper of Clinton, Missouri; Evelyn Harper of Urich, Missouri; Joyce Eddy (Harper) of Chillicothe, Missouri; Charles Harper of Clinton, Missouri and son-in-law Charles West of Urich, Missouri in addition to  11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Laura (Luckey) Cox; husband, Joy Harper; brother, Wilbur Cox; daughters, Eunice Harper and Laura (Harper) West; great-grandson, Elijah Saldivar; daughter-in-law, Pamala (Jones) Harper and son-in-law, Charles Eddy.

Gladys was born on August 28, 1928 in Osceola, Missouri to Joe and Laura Cox.  She grew up in Overland Park, Kansas and graduated from Shawnee Mission High School in 1946.  She married Joy Harper on July 9, 1946.

During her life with Joy, the had several adventures including a move to California, farming, trash hauling, tool and dye making, well drilling and flying.  Gladys was active in all of the businesses, was the pilot of the family and always willing to get up and go.  She maintained this mentality throughout her life.

After Joy’s passing, Gladys continued to farm, worked in insurance and real estate and even went to college at the age of 65.  Despite the many career passions and her love of being busy, Gladys believed in God and family above all.
