Donald (Donnie) Lero Veach was born October 28, 1942 to Edna Veach at the home of his grandparents, Enos and Florence Veach near Salt Creek west of Osceola, Missouri.  He passed away October 26, 2020 in Appleton City, Missouri.

He spent his whole life near Salt Creek until health reasons required him to go to Appleton City Manor on October 1, 2020.

Donnie attended Chalk Level school through the 8th grade.  Due to having the chicken pox he didn’t get to attend graduation or their class trip.  During those years he made lifelong friends.  Stanley Knight, Larry Thomas, Omar Hadsall, Tom Williams, Nelda Bray and all of their siblings.  I’m sure that I’ve missed a few, but he could call of them by name.  He spoke about a trip in the 6th grade to the Nelson Art Gallery.

He worked at many places in his lifetime such as the housing apartments in Clinton, unloading sheetrock from train cars and delivering to the Osceola housing and the saw mill alongside Jim Carroll.  In later years you find Donnie tending to hogs for Uncle Freddie or in the hay fields with Uncle Harry.  He also liked to take apart and fix lawn mowers, tractors or any piece of small engine equipment.  Until a few years ago you rarely saw him idle.

Donnie was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents and cousins.  He is survived by many cousins, friends, old school mates and others who knew him.  He will be greatly missed.
