Patrick Dale Holley passed on May 11, 2022.  He was born August 4th, 1947, to Edith May McRill-Holley and Dale Glenn (Buck) Holley in East St. Louis, IL.  He graduated from Belleville IL Township H.S. in 1965 and he worked as an Engineering Project Manager at Fru-Con Construction Co. of St. Louis for 40 years until retiring and moving to Osceola, MO with Beverly R. Boucher.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and aunts and uncles Vernon and Charlotte (Holley) Turley, Gene and Winona Holley, and John McRill.  He was loved and will be greatly missed by Chris and Tricia Boucher, Jesse and Rachel Boucher, and “grandkids” Jaida, Carlie, Braeden, Sophie.  His laughter and joyful presence will be missed by his cousin Judith Smith and her extended family.

A “serious fisherman that never took it too seriously”, as a good friend mentioned, he enjoyed annual muskie trips to Canada as well as long days dipping minnows for Crappie on Truman Lake.  He was also a talented cartoonist and artist who created many different works of art.  He was a captivating storyteller and always knew a good joke.

I was one of the lucky guys that knew Pat . For decades one of the “crew ” that made the yearly trek to Canada musky fishing. We had some great adventures on the lakes and hooked quite a few biggies.
Pat was with me when I caught my biggest and I was with him. What a great friend.
Fish on buddy….where the muskies are always hungry.

I met Pat in 1979 when i needed a change in my life the most. Pat took me under his wing as a co-worker at Fru-Con, however our friendship was sealed through the love of fishing. Our early trips began fishing for trout to ultimately tagging along on annual trips to Canada for Musky. Kind, generous, funny, are but a few words I would use to describe him. He was a pretty fair fisherman as well. If I could imagine a film of my life there is no question that Pat would have been featured on the high-light reel often. You will be missed my friend, Fish On!

I met Pat over 50 years ago and we became the best of friends. We were both single then and eventually both married and had the best of times as couples. As time went on and Pat became single again he and Bev became a couple and moved to Osceola, we stayed in touch and continued our long friendship. Pat loved to fish, loved drawing, and I have many cartoon type pictures that he drew, as well as his many “Holley” Christmas cards. I truly thought of him as a brother and already miss being able to pick up the phone and talk to him. He loved his trips to Canada and so glad that he will make that last trip there with his great fishing buddies to scatter his ashes. Have so many great memories of you my special friend. Rest in Peace.

I met Pat at Jones Boys Pool Hall in Belleville Il. back in the late sixties. We exchanged money there for quite a few years. Like several others, our friendship grew closer because of fishing. Our early trips were to Bennett Springs for trout, leaving Friday night (from the pool hall) and returning Sunday evening. We did that often. We then graduated to the promise of big fish up north and some special trips around the country. I suppose it’s time for me to admit he was the better fisherman, pool and card player.
So many wonderful times and shared memories with as fine a person as I’ve ever met.
I will miss you, my friend.

I am one of Pat’s numerous cousins (his Mom was my Dad’s sister), I was raised in California & have wonderful memories of visiting him and his parents & they visiting us. Unfortunately, I lost all contact with him after his Mom’s death.
