Larry Richard Iddings was born in Maryville, MO on May 21, 1947 to E. A. and Betty Iddings. He passed away October 30, 2017 in Kansas City, MO.
He attended school in Kansas City, MO, graduating from Paseo High School in 1965. He entered the U.S. Army in 1966 and was stationed in Germany and Florida. He was discharged in 1969.
After bouncing around for a couple of years, Larry made his career as a commercial plumber, working for several large mechanical companies in Kansas City. Due to health issues, Larry retired at the age of 58 after moving to Osceola with his wife Becky Haupt-Iddings. Larry and Becky were together until her passing in 2015.
Larry and Becky loved to travel and Alaska stole their hearts. Over the years they purchased a couple of motor homes and enjoyed many fun filled trips with their dear friends, and traveling companions. He also loved living in the country. His hobbies included smoking meat and hanging out with the friends he made in Osceola. He spent many hours at the VFW doing both. He and his team entered several cook-off contests walking away with a good time and many awards.
Larry was generous and fun-loving. He enjoyed playing jokes and making people laugh, as his friends knew all too well. He was well known as a smart a**, which was part of his charm.
He leaves behind a sister, Becky Tracy and her family; three children, Jennifer Stockstill, Amy Benz, Russell LaRue, and their families, He also leaves his special friend Bernie Clark and many other dear friends he considered to be part of his extended family. Larry’s two dogs Jake and Elmer are going to miss their master.
Larry left us too soon and we, his family and friends, are going to miss him.
