Jones, Norma January 6, 1929 - January 14, 2023

Norma Phyllis Chiles Jones, age 94 became “absent from the body, and to
be present with the Lord” (2 Corinthians 5:8) on January 14th,
2023. Norma was born January 6, 1929 on the family farm in rural
Deepwater, Missouri, the eighth child of Will and Blanche Chiles.

Norma accepted Christ as her Savior and was baptized when she was 23
years old and was a faithful member of the Finey Baptist Church where
she had many friends. She attended eight years of grade school at Park
Grove and graduated high school from Lowry City.

On July 23, 1949 she married Robert Jones and to this union were three
children, Lana, Gale and Robin. She was a stay at home mother until her
youngest child was in first grade. She became a cashier at different
businesses then long after retiring, was asked to return to work until she
was 81 years old.

Norma was preceded in death by her husband Bob of 57 years, her son
Gale when he was 17 years old, and grandson Lance Fleming when he
was 10 years old. Also her father and mother, Will and Blanche Chiles,
two brothers, Strieby and Clifford (Evelyn) Chiles; six sisters, Wilma
Moree, Eva (Charlie) Nichols Dorathy (Howard) Schmidli, Ethel (Nolan)
Jones, Nada (Bob) Lyon and Kathleen (George) Thompson.

She is survived by two daughters Lana (Rich) Fleming and Robin Stocking
(Jim Fizer). Three grandchildren Dana Kay (Jim) Brenner, Jon Burrow
and Dillon (Emily) Stocking. Seven great grandchildren Bo, Maverick
and Jake Brenner, Madison (Steven) Casey, Ariana Meeks, Kynlee and
Jase Stocking.

Niece Ruth Schmidli visited daily in word and deed in the last few years
and Jackie Nichols many kindnesses meant so much to all of us. We also
are thankful for a large number of wonderful nieces and nephews that
blessed her life.

We remember one of her favorite things to do when searching for God’s
will, was to hold the Bible in both hands and let it fall open to a scripture
to find her answer
