Melvin Lawson was born August 26, 1926 in St. Clair County, MO. He was the youngest of eight children born to William Elzie and Maude (Cobb) Lawson. He passed away August 5, 2013 at the Golden Valley Memorial Hospital, Clinton, MO. Melvin grew up in the Iconium community and lived most of his adult life in the Kansas City, Raymore and Clinton, MO, areas. He worked as a dry cleaner, and at LABCONCO as a laboratory equipment assembler and at Western Auto. Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one in infancy, Eldon and Ellis Lawson and three sisters, Etheleen Elton, Pauline Randall and Helen Davis. Mourning the Loss of their beloved father are three daughters, Kay Hart (Bill), Carolyn Carroll (Lanny), and Pat Lawson (LaVon Holley); one sister Eunice Scott, Osceola, MO. Also surviving are his six grandchildren, Donnie Boyle (Sherry), Jo Dona Schussler, Terry Boyle (Gina), Megan Carroll (Phillip Garden), Lindsey Burkhart (Bud) and Devon Carroll (Amanda); eight great grandchildren, eleven great-great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. The family would like to thank all the caregivers who took wonderful care of Melvin.
