Long, Rebecca J. October 5, 1952 - November 15, 2017

Rebecca Jean long, 65 passed away November 15th, 2017 at the Freeman West Hospital, Joplin Mo after a lengthy illness. Becky was born to Austin and Mary Gooden on Oct 5th 1952. She was united in marriage to Carl Edward long on November 22nd 1970.

Becky lived around the Montevallo area most of her life. Graduating from the Eldorado Springs high school in 1970. She worked at Cedar County Memorial Hospital for several years. She enjoyed being a wife, Mother and Grandmother. She spent many hours in the kitchen. Baking and making candies, cookies and all kinds of sweet tasting goodies for family, friends and events. You knew she would be there with many tasty treats.

She loved her dogs Casper, Daisy and her cats. They were like babies to her.

Becky attended the Montevallo Baptist church as a youth and accepted the lord as her savior. She later attended the Virgil City Baptist church. In addition to her husband Carl, she is survived by her two daughters – Carla Marie Long and Chuck of Montevallo and Michelle Jean Griffin (Long) and husband Raymond of Nevada Mo. She is also survived by her 4 brothers, Dusty Pennington of Nevada MO, Homer Gooden of Montevallo MO, Sam Gooden and wife Betty of Dederick MO and Paul Gooden and wife Tina of Lamar MO. 3 sisters Ruth Woods and Husband J.R. of Nevada MO, Laura Cook and husband Kelvin of Montevallo MO and Pam Shipp and Husband Michael of Nevada MO. 2 brother in laws John Dedrick and Pat Chastain, both of Nevada MO. Sister in law Eileen Gooden of Eldorado Springs MO.

She was a loving Grandmother of 8 Grandchildren, Cody, Julie, Jesse, Ashley, Blake, Raymond III, Christina and Jeremy and several whom called her Grandma. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles and had many friends.

Becky was preceded in death by her grandparents, her parents Austin and Mary Gooden, Brother Larry Gooden and 2 baby brothers, James and Danny. 2 Sisters Linda Dedrick and Rose Chastain. Her mother and father in law Cleo and Thelma Long. Her brother and sister in law Jimmy and Doris long.
