Bobbie Lee (Short) Mallicoat ws born August 29, 1927 in Monegaw Springs to Frank and Alma (Dunn) Mallicoat. He went to Heaven to meet his Heavenly Father and wife Otha on October 13, 2015.
B.L. (Short) married Otha Mae Richey on July 17, 1957. They lived most of their married life west of Monegaw Springs. In 2004 they moved to the family farm to be closer to family for health reasons.
Short attended school in Monegaw Springs . After school he did a lot of trucking and farming. He worked for the St. Clair Road District before going to work for the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) and retired from there after 15 years.
In the late summer of 2003 Short accepted Christ and was baptized. He attended church regularly. He was an avid coon hunter who loved hunting with his sons and neighbors. Everyone enjoyed listening to Short’s stories. In later years he enjoyed fishing from his dock on the lake at his home. He loved sitting on the deck watching the wildlife.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Otha and daughter, Carolyn. Short is survived by his sons, Albert (Neva) and Mike (Sabrina) Mallicoat of El Dorado Springs; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and numerous friends.
Short’s stories will be missed by many.
