Donald LeRoy Quaintance was born on August 9, 1932 in Weaubleau to Julian and Virginia Nowell Quaintance. He died October 6, 2015 at his home in Kansas City. He grew up in Quincy and Gerster and graduated from Weaubleau High School. When he was young, he enjoyed hunting and fishing Weaubleau Creek.
Don was a veteran of the United States Navy from 1950-53 and served during the Korean Conflict on the U.S.S. Power. He was a proud member of the DAV Chapter 2 in Kansas City and Belton VFW Post 8220.
On December 21, 1956, he married Katherine Page and they had three children: Larry, Terry and Lori. He later married Linda Titus Smith and together they raised her three children: Laura, Andy and Marie.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Daryl Quaintance; and his sister, Joyce Bauernfiend. He is survived by son Larry and wife Jean of Round Lake Beach, IL, son Terry and wife Cindy of Kansas City, daughter Lori Bumsted and husband Myron of Macks Creek; two granddaughters, Kendall DeVore and husband Chris and Jennifer Quaintance; two great-granddaughters, Tegan Quaintance and Samantha DeVore; two great-grandsons, Dylan and Zander DeVore; all of Kansas City.
