Brandon Montgomery Mays was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Monty and Shannon (Cunningham) Mays on August 6th, 1984. He passed August 18, 2020 in Osceola, Missouri.
Those who knew Brandon, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives. He certainly was one of a kind. Brandon unquestionably loved music. His guitar was always nearby and when he picked it up to play he would capture the hearts of his audience.
He treasured his family. The love he had for his Nana, Papa, brothers, and sisters, and his children was strong and unbreakable. He never missed a chance to tell you about them, even though he could not be with them physically.
Brandon’s momma was his best friend, he never missed the opportunity to help her cook in the kitchen, raid the refrigerator at midnight, and to always have a cup of coffee in the morning with her whenever he could.
Brandon loved the Lord. One of his most joyous moments was the day he was baptized. He traveled quite a bit, but he would always find a church wherever he was.
During his younger years, you would find Brandon cheering on the Atlanta Braves, but as he got older he found a passion for the Dallas Cowboys.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Jerry Mays and his grandmother, Shirley Hughes.
Brandon is survived by his grandma, Nana Ruth Mays, of Oklahoma; his father, Monty Mays of Oklahoma; his mother, Shannon Gerfen and stepfather, Mark Gerfen of Missouri; his stepmom, Vicki Waugh of Missouri; his children, Jace Montgomery Collins of Oklahoma, Andrew Thomas Lee Mays of Missouri, Chloe Grace Mays of Missouri; his sisters Jennifer Mays of Oklahoma, Lacie Gerfen of Missouri; his Brother Luke Gerfen of Missouri, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.
