Noema Wanda McGriff was born March 26, 1928 in Miller, Missouri. She passed away at the Sac-Osage Hospital in Osceola, Missouri on February 3, 2014. She grew up in the Mt. Vernon area and graduated from school there. On July 3, 1970 she was united in marriage to James McGriff. They made their home in the Kansas City area. She worked as a waitress for several years at Irene’s Steak House, but she was always most interested in her home and being a homemaker. Noema loved to fish and was very good at it. Their decision to move to Osceola was largely because of the great fishing opportunities it offered. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Diana Sue Evatt, two brothers, Mark and Paul Nicholas; one sister, Avril Dunn and the father of her children, Marvin Evatt. Noema is survived by her husband, Jim McGriff, of the home; two sons, Marvin Evatt and Dale Evatt; three brothers, Edward, Lynn and Adrian Nicholas; three sisters, Edna Orbindoff, Donna Harris and Elsie Wagner; 4 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and many friends.
