Sharon Aslea McHargue was born in Milburn, Kansas on July 15, 1942, to LaVerna Rutledge (Manis) and Harold Manis. Sharon passed away at her home in Osceola, Mo on August 5, 2021, at age 79.
She worked in Topeka, KS for several of her early years, after that, she worked for the Kansas Turnpike authorities until 1983 when she moved to Kansas City, Missouri.
Sharon married William McHargue on April 19, 1983. In 1986 she and William bought a farm south of Osceola, MO. William retired from UPS as a driver for 30 years in 1994, where after, they raised cattle until 2016, when they both retired for the second time. Her and William remained in their home, until her passing.
Sharon was an active member with the local VFW 4197 and served as an officer of womens auxiliary with a lifetime membership of 4197. She was very proud of veterans, especially her father who served in WW2 when she was born.
She was preceded in death by both her parents and two brothers: William Manis, and Lowell Manis and one son-in-law Michael Worthley.
Sharon is survived by her husband of the home, William McHargue, a son Michael of Topeka, KS, Sheryl and Steven of Topeka, KS and Karen Cooper of Topeka, KS. Her youngest: Donna Worthley of Osceola, Mo, and a stepson Stanley McHargue of Clinton, Mo. She is also survived by 6 grandkids and 2 great-grandkids.
She was a Christian who believed deeply in God and her words were always “God bless you” when she parted instead of goodbye.
She will be missed by her family and friends. God Bless.
