William G. Moritz was born August 21, 1935 to Joseph A. and Bertha Lohrengel Moritz at General Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. He passed away May 11, 2014 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.
He was the middle of 11 children, 8 boys and 3 girls. The family moved to St. Clair County in 1945 where he enjoyed the country life. He attended several rural schools, leaving Lowry City High School after 9th grade.
Bill worked several jobs in Kansas City before enlisting in the United States Navy in 1955. He returned to Clinton in 1959 and was employed at Stewart Nattinger window factory. In 1962 he was hired at the Clinton Post Office, starting part-time as a carrier/clerk. Bill walked the mail routes and was later hired full time as a window clerk. He continued working this position until his retirement in 1990.
Bill married Stella Humphreys on December 30, 1960 and to this union 2 children were born, Tim and Sally.
In his spare time he enjoyed spending it outdoors whether it was fishing or with family and friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, 7 brothers, 2 sisters, in-laws and a good friend, Jerry B.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Stella Moritz, of the home; 2 children, Tim Moritz of Gulfport, Mississippi and Sally Dains and husband Nathan of Lake Ozark, Missouri;1 granddaughter, Lea Hart; 2 grandsons, Howard William andLevi Parker Hart; 1 sister, Jeannette Roberson of Albuquerque, New Mexico along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends and neighbors. .
