Nichols, Jack L. April 2, 1946 - December 27, 2014

Jack Lynn Nichols was born April 02, 1946 to Victor and Mary (Cole) Nichols in Akron, Ohio. Jack graduated from Barberton High School in 1964 in Barberton, Ohio. He was offered a university golf scholarship but chose to enter the military service. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1964. Jack served a tour of duty in Viet Nam in the radar repair division was honorably discharged in July 1969.

After discharge, Jack enrolled in the University of Arizona and completed several hours of general study. He then moved to Louisiana and developed his skill as a sand blaster and spray painter in the petroleum industry.

Jack and Joyce met in 1976 and married in 1977 in Abbeville, Louisiana. Jack lived his life as an outdoorsman building a log cabin as their first home in Longrun, Missouri. Jack and Joyce lived in Longrun till 2000 when they moved to Humansville, Missouri to build their second home.

Jack was an avid golfer and lover of all nature and animals. He was well known for humility, kindness and selfless love for all.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Linda Nichols Hennessy and Janet Nichols Lay, and his niece Kimberly Lay. He is survived by his wife Joyce Carlisi Nichols, his brother Jerry Nichols, nephews Rick and Scott Lay and niece Abby Hennessy.

Jack died at his home in Humansville in the loving arms of his wife Joyce on the afternoon of Saturday December 27, 2014.
