Shireman, Garnet G. March 6, 1916 - December 28, 2014

Garnet Geneva Shireman passed away on December 28, 2014 at Big Spring Care Center in Humansville, MO with her eldest daughter at her side.

Garnet was born on March 6, 1916 in Wray, Colorado to Noah M. and Gertrude (Frampton) Bolander. She spent the first years of her life on a homestead farm and was the first of eleven children. Garnet graduated from Humansville High School in 1933. Garnet accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior as a youth. She was a charter member of Park Street Baptist Church in El Dorado Springs, MO, where her membership resides. In 1938 she married Herbert John Shireman Junior. To this union 3 children were born. Herbert and Garnet were married for 53 years before he was called home in 1991.

She is preceded in death by her father and mother, her husband Herbert John “Junior”, three sisters, Selma, Mona, June, and four brothers, Alvin, Dale, Dean, and Cecil. br>
Garnet is survived by two sisters and sister-in-law: Berle Jean Williams of Aldrich, MO; Victorine Nickles of Stockton, MO; Bettie Bolander of Roscoe, MO. One brother: Franklin Bolander of Maryland. Two daughters and one son: Beverly Marquis of Collins, MO; Jerry Shireman of Blue Springs, MO; Marcia Dampf of Casa Grande, AZ. Eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Garnet was known for her hard work on the farm, in the home, and in Dunbrook Shirt & Jacket factory in El Dorado Springs, MO. She retired from the factory after 25 years. In her retirement she enjoyed needlework, gardening, canning, and was a gifted seamstress. Garnet used her talent for sewing to clothe and provide for her family as well to make many gifts for her loved ones. Garnet was an active member of the Roscoe Home Makers and 4H clubs. Garnet resided the last 14 years in Big Spring Care Center in Humansville, MO where she was surrounded by loving caregivers and friends. Rex and Margaret Lingerfelt were very special friends that cared for Garnet for many years.

Garnet was loved dearly by her family and many friends. While she will be greatly missed, we rejoice that she is now with Jesus.
