Jerry  Martin O’Neal was born September 16, 1951 in Doniphan, Missouri to Blaine and Helen Johnson O’Neal.  He passed away July 5, 2019 at Warsaw Health and Rehabilitation Center in Warsaw, Missouri.

 

   He is a graduate of Wyandotte High School in Kansas City, Kansas with the class of 1969.  After graduation he joined the United States Army in August of 1969. He served as a personnel officer in Vietnam from June 1970 to April 1971.  Upon his discharge from the Army he attended and graduated from the Kansas State University with a degree in Agriculture.

 

   Jerry moved from Kansas City, Kansas to the Truman Lake, Deepwater area to fish, hunt and trap.  He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4197 in Osceola, Missouri; American Legion Post 604 Lowry City, Missouri and Vietnam Veterans of America Post 317 in Kansas City, Missouri.

 

   He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Patricia “Pat” Pollister Graves and his life long best friend, Mike Duy.

 

   Jerry is survived by his brothers, Jim O’Neal and wife Stephanie of Deepwater, Missouri, John O’Neal and wife Terese of Platte City, Missouri; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.  He is also survived by many close friends in the Deepwater and Kansas City areas.

    I knew Jerry for fifty years. Lots of memories. I lost contact and was very glad to reconnect with Jerry, mike, and guy. We had some great days swapping stories. I joked once that all of our stories started out with do you remember that time we had been drinking and ended with and then the police came. Hw left a hole that wont e filled. Ill miss him a lot.
