Sally was born November 26, 1925 to Herman and Anna (VanderPoel) Moret in Sioux County, Iowa. She was united in marriage with Douglas Ostlund, Sr. on August 25, 1944. They were blessed with three sons and three daughters.
Sally was a member of the Valley Center United Church of Christ of Deepwater, MO. Over the past sixty years Sally was a pastor’s wife and not only took care of her six children, but all members of each church that Douglas served. She served as a great inspiration to those women within the different women’s ministry and helped many along the way. She was the eyes and ears of the Appleton City Manor and would ensure each individual was taken care of, even if she had to do so herself. She was very loved by all who were part of her life. She will be missed by those she touched. Even though they moved around to different churches in several states, Sally always felt like Bertha MN was her home.
Sally was preceded in death by her parents and sister Dorothy Kleinwolterink.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, Rev. Douglas Ostlund, Sr., Appleton City, MO; six children, Denny and wife, Audry Ostlund, Pine Island, MN; Doug and wife, Joan Ostlund, Wadena, MN; Dori and husband, Joel Semler, Deepwater, MO; Daniel and wife, Wanda Ostlund, Hackensack, MN; Debbie and husband, Tim Cary, Wadena, MN; and DeeDee Ostlund, San Antonio, TX; fifteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, a niece and nephew.
