Lucille Janelle Phillips was born October 13, 1933 in Kansas City, Missouri to Robert and May (Dempton) Sandridge. She passed away June 27, 2014 at her home. Lucille met her first husband, Zane Gray while working as a car hop in Kansas City. To this union four children were born. They moved to Johnson City, MO to raise their family. Zane worked for Peabody Coal and took up farming. Lucille was a fulltime homemaker and loving mother. They enjoyed the boat races on the Missouri River. Years later she married Dave Phillips. He preceded her in death fifteen years ago. Before moving to Johnson City, MO she also worked as a tomato packer in a tomato factory. She was a machine operator and also worked as a nutritionist in the El Dorado Springs Nursing Home. Lucille then worked as an elder caregiver up until three years ago. She enjoyed collecting salt and pepper shakers and angels. Lucille especially enjoyed garage sales. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and May Sandridge, her brother, Wayne and sisters, Laveta, Mardell and Naomi. Lucille is survived by her children, Loyd Gray, Osceola, MO, Lowell Gray,, Kansas City, MO, Woodrow Gray , Appleton City, MO and Brenda Kilpatrick, Johnson Co., KS, sister, Darlene Sandridge, North Kansas City, MO, first husband, Zane Gray, Chalk Level, MO, her friend and significant other, Roy Dailey, El Dorado Springs, MO, other relatives and friends.
