Alan G. Poe, 63 Flemington, MO passed on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 in his home surrounded by his family, after a three year struggle with cancer. He was born, August 25, 1952, the third child of Elzie and Helen (Jury) Poe. He was preceded in death by his parents, his father and mother-in-law, Robert and Wanda Peck, two sisters-in-law, as well as a beloved nephew, Larry Poe.
Alan owned A & J Construction and built over 66 homes in the area while in business almost 40 years. He also took great pride in his farm, running Charlois and Red Angus cattle. In the last three years he had been working on his dream of an all yellow herd of Charlois/Red Angus cross cattle.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Janice, son Derek and Amy Poe, daughter Alana and Cliff Loftis, grandchildren, Chris and Jalisa (Poe) Nunn, Lane and Tyler Loftis, and Brandi and Abby Bradford. Siblings, James and Shirley Poe, William and Carol Poe, Janie and Dave Schneider. Sister-in-law Peggy and Sid McCoy, one aunt, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and two very special great-great nieces and two great-great nephews, as well as many close friends.
