Melvin David Rambo was born January 7, 1926 to Charles Raymond Rambo and Laura Hinkle Rambo. He passed away in Lowry City on January 8, 2010. Melvin was raised in Lowry City and also graduated from Lowry City High School in 1944. After graduation he moved to Kansas City and worked for Pratt & Whitney making airplane engines for the defense plant. Melvin moved back to Lowry City in the 1950s and ran a movie theatre on the weekends. He worked for Paxton lumber company for 20 years and then for Mo. Water Co. and retired in 1980 Melvin was shy and quiet, but enjoyed being around his friends. He attended the First Baptist Church of Clinton. Eighteen years ago Melvin moved to Clinton to help care for his sister Dorothy. Melvin is preceded in death by his father, mother, wife; Maxine, one brother; Alvin, and one sister; Dorothy He is survived by his brother Harold (Bill) of Independence, MO, nephew Kenneth and wife Carolyn of Independence, MO, nephews Robert Payne Jim Payne of Tullahoma, TN along with other relatives and friends.
