Her parents opened and operated for 46 years the Lane Shoe Store in Bolivar where Inez first worked. She enjoyed working with the public and going to market for shoes and purses in St. Louis, Chicago and Dallas. On January 26, 1960, she was married to J.R. Reser and they spent their entire life married life in Osceola in the home they built together. They were a team working side by side in the operations of the Darby-Reser Ford Dealership in Osceola. Inez was more than a “bookkeeper”, she ran the office, met the customers, kept the garage running smoothly and even sold a few cars.
Inez was a member of Grace United Methodist Church of Osceola. She took an active part in her community and was a member of the Osceola Chamber of Commerce. Inez and J.R. were avid MU fans, enjoying going to the Mizzou football games and supporting Mizzou as an alumni press box donor.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her beloved husband, J.R. on June 17, 2006. For the past several years Inez had been home bound and the love and care shown to her by her caregivers, Beverly Schmalz, Eleanor Masten, Georgia Blair, Judy Byrne, Mary McCaslin and Michelle Morris was impeccable. They were angels in the eyes of Inez and her family is truly grateful for all they did to allow her to stay in the home she loved
Surviving is her loving daughter, Cindy Lane Reser of Springfield, Missouri, several special nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.
