Herbert “Gene” Scholes, age 69, of Nevada, Missouri, passed away on July 15, 2013. He was born August 28, 1943, to John Melvin Scholes and Lola Fay Malcolm. He was the youngest of seven children and was born and raised in Zodiac, Missouri. Gene retired from Ford Motor Company after serving 35 years there. Gene lived in Kansas City, Missouri for 25 years when he then moved back to Vernon County, Missouri until his death. Gene was preceded in death by his mother, Lola Fay; his father, John Melvin; two brothers, John Jr. Scholes and Loren Scholes; two sisters, Almeda Eisenhower and Pearletta Larson; one step grandson, Shane Lambrecht and one great grandson, Jase Mikel Williams. He is survived by one brother, Raymond Scholes and wife, Janette; one sister, Helen Butt; the mother of his children, Thelma Shutters; five children, Ida Nilene Lambrecht and husband, Frank, and Janell Irene Hale and husband, Kenneth, both of El Dorado Springs, Missouri, Herbert Gene Scholes II and wife, Pamla, of Walker, Missouri, Luessa Lee Sumner and husband, Charles, of Schell City, Missouri, and Douglas Eugene Scholes of Nevada, Missouri; also several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a host of friends. “I may not always be right, But I’m never wrong.”
