Shaw, Genevieve July 4, 1909 - May 31, 2015

Genevieve Shaw, age 105, of El Dorado Springs, MO passed away May 31, 2015 in Community Springs Healthcare Facility, El Dorado Springs, MO. Genevieve was born July 4, 1909 to James E. and Dora A. (Jackson) Stone on Main Street in El Dorado Springs, MO. In the 1800’s her ancestors led travelers to the Spring of Water, now in the City Park and shortly thereafter the city of El Dorado Springs was founded. Genevieve was proud of her heritage and lived all of her life on the farm just outside of El Dorado Springs that her grandparents homesteaded. She enjoyed teaching her students, working with bees, gardening and her livestock. Genevieve was preceded in death by her husband Leslie E. Shaw, and son Raymond Shaw. Genevieve is survived by her daughter Ruth (Shaw) Allen of Nevada, MO, granddaughter, Belinda Greenstreet and husband Brent, El Dorado Springs, MO and Teresia Koger and husband Jeff, El Dorado Springs, MO; great granddaughter Nicole Brackman and husband Brad, Concordia, MO, Lisa Hudson and husband Cody, El Dorado Springs, and one great grandson. Also surviving are 4 great-great grandchildren, Gracie Brackman, Taylee Hudson, Lane Brackman and Raylee Hudson, other relatives and many friends at Community Springs Healthcare Facility. Grandma Shaw enjoyed the outdoors hoeing weeds. We will be missed and remembered for living the laid back simple life as we all should do.
