Snyder, Clarence “Uel” February 18, 1933 - December 3, 2014

Clarence “Uel” Snyder was born February 18, 1933 in Lowry City, Missouri to Clarence and Mildred Duvall-Snyder. He went to be with his Savior Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Menorah Medical Center. Uel graduated from East High School in Kansas City, Missouri in 1951. He continued his education at General Motors Institute where he earned his business degree. While attending college Uel also worked for General Motors receiving his on the job training. Following college Uel went on to serve his country, completing his US Naval Preflight and Commissioning as an ensign in the US Naval Reserves at Saufley Field in Pensacola, Florida. In 1960 Uel married Susan Buck. To this union were born 3 children, Linda Snyder-Beasley, Kevin Uel Snyder and Ken Dave Snyder. Once discharged from the Naval Air Force, Uel returned to General Motors as a supervisor at the Fairfax plant in Kansas City. Uel’s career with General Motors also led him to the Detroit plant where he was a supervisor and to the Cunningham, Massachusetts plant as the material director, before returning to the Fairfax plant in Kansas City where he retired in 1987. June 29, 1988, Uel married Gloria Cook Riley. Uel and Gloria have resided in Lowry City, Missouri for the past 26 years. Uel enjoyed time with his family and coyote hunting with friends. Uel is survived by his wife Gloria, his children Linda Beasley, Ken Snyder and Kevin Snyder, step sons Jeff Riley and Charlie Riley, step daughter Diane Riley, step grandchildren Levi Riley and Chantz Riley as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters Norma Raup and Roma Netherton
