Rife, Roy Eldon August 2, 1955 - December 5, 2014

Roy Eldon Rife was born August 2, 1955 in Osceola, Missouri to Chester and Maggie Ann (Fields) Rife. He passed away at his home in Osceola, Missouri on December 5, 2014.

He went to Wheatland School until he finished the 11th grade and decided to start his adult life. Traveling to Oregon, Washington, California and back to Kansas, where he met Carol Ann Hartley. They married in 1976 and to this union, Glen Allen Rife was born in 1978. Roy came back to Missouri in 1980. He worked as a class A diesel mechanic. In 1982 he married Diane Cauthon. To this union Richard Lee was born in 1982, Roy Eldon II in 1984 and Tony Amanuel Rife in 1986.

In 1983 Roy made the choice to switch careers and be a carpenter. He moved his family to Appleton City, Missouri to work with Don Paur for many years, learning his trade. Roy found this was what he liked to do with his working career until he was hurt on a job in 1997 and couldn’t work any longer. To this day Don tells everyone Roy was to best worker he ever had.

Roy had many, many friends that he visited with. He enjoyed having barbeques, riding horses, fishing, hunting, gardening, and riding around on the back roads, drinking his beer. Roy did enjoy life to the fullest. He had a different sense of humor that most people knew how to deal with, but that’s what made him love life and to be himself.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Maggie Ann Rife; brothers, Pete and Glen; sister, Mae; son Tony and grandchildren, Alayna, Chase and Glen.

Roy is survived by his children, Glen (Shanna) of Arkansas City, Kansas, Richard and Roy (Samantha), both of Lowry City, Missouri; brothers, Dale, Jim (Glenda) and Dean (Dee); sisters Jean (George), Iva (John), Mary Ann (Ed) and Kay (Larry Gene); brother-in-law, Larry Abel; grandchildren, Zoe, Micheal, Connor, Collin, Noah, Robin, Michael, Alexys, Bryann, Russell, Damyan, Miah; companion, Naressa Veach; along with many nieces and nephews and many friends.
