Nancy Sue Trudt of Collins Missouri passed away in the early morning hours of Saturday October 23, 2021, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. She was born on November 28, 1947, in Peoria, Illinois, the first child of Russell and Martha Walliker. She was joined in blissful matrimony to Raymond Trudt on March 16, 1968. This was the best thing she ever did. The marriage resulted in two children, a daughter Angeline, and a son Paul. They were married over 53 years.
Nancy spent her life in the service of others. Always ready to lend a helping hand, give good but blunt advice or successful matchmaking. She always loved a lively exchange of ideas and exhibited her walking encyclopedia of knowledge. She was a renaissance woman and was very proud that her Great-Grandfather (many times over) Lewis Morris was a signer of the Declaration of Independence. Her wit, knowledge, heart, and love have made true and permanent marks on everyone she knew or met, and she will be forever missed.
Nancy always believed that when you did a good deed you shouldn’t speak of it because that was bragging and took away from the good deed. In her last few minutes she said, “the fans are crowding me.” When asked what she meant she said, “The people are crowding me from three sides.” The family and friends who left before her had come to welcome her home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter-in-law, Stacey Cox Trudt, two brothers-in-law, Dr. Donald Henson, and Lou Gasbarri.
Nancy is survived by her children, Angeline Decker and husband Tony of Collins, Missouri, Paul Trudt and wife Pam of Fairview Heights, Illinois, four grandchildren, one sister, Nina Latham and husband Scott of Brimfield, Illinois, one brother, Paul Walliker and wife Shari of Galva, Illinois, two sisters-in-law, Mathleen Henson of Bethesda, Maryland, and Rosemary Gasbarri of Silver Springs, Maryland, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
