Larry Dean Walters was born in Clinton, MO on April 30, 1965, and passed away in Springfield, MO on June 9, 2023.

As a boy he enjoyed spending time with family and friends, having picnics with his mom and making treats, and being fussed over by all the women in the family, who loved their “little dude.” He also loved helping on the farm, spending time with his grandpa Alto, that nicknamed him “Dino,” coon hunting, riding horses, and going to the races with his dad. Larry Dean attended school and graduated from Lakeland in 1983.

When Larry Dean was 10 years old, his little brother Mike was born, and he was a devoted big brother and protector. In the mid 1990’s, he bought part of the original Walters farm and began farming on his own. He spent the next few years starting a family, farming, and helping out anyone that asked. He also enjoyed camping, hunting, cruising around on backroads, and visiting the back porch.

Larry Dean’s favorite holiday was the 4th of July, and he always had a BBQ and big fireworks display. He also loved to watch movies, especially old war movies, and westerns. He enjoyed reading books about history, Native Americans, and the wild west.

Larry Dean loved being a dad and grandpa. His five sons, his daughter, and grandchildren were an important part of his life.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Alto and Idaleen Walters, maternal grandparents: Nolan and Cleo Mae Boyle, stepfather Darrel Hughes, uncles: Donald Boyle, and Ronnie Walters, and aunts: Sheryl Lou Dennis and Shirley Walters.

Larry Dean leaves behind his wife of 18 years, Selena Walters, sons: William (Diana) Walters, LeVonne, Christopher, Jacob, and James, daughter Marlana (Will) Adams, grandchildren Anastazia, Justice, Brooklyn, Elly, William “Little Willy”, and Diana. He is also survived by his father Larry (Alice) Walters, mother Joyce Hughes, brother Mike (Keri) Walters, stepsister Jackie (Scott) Alexander, uncle Steve Walters, aunts: Shirley McCoy, Pam, and Kim, nieces: Katelyn and Courtny, nephew Jackson, as well as numerous cousins and friends and his baby and girlfriend Samantha Ann.
