Dorothy Williams, 88, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 19, 2021. She was born August 11, 1932 in Rookins to Gerald “Skip” and Oma Marquis, but Roscoe was the town she called home.
She was a loving mother and a dedicated grandmother. Dorothy started teaching at age 17 and worked in education for over 40 years. She spent 36 years as the secretary for the Roscoe Volunteer Fire Department. She enjoyed spending time with her siblings and friends, gardening, quilting and taking trips to Branson.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Gerald “Puddin” Marquis and Donald “Buzz” Marquis.
She leaves behind two sons, Gerald Williams of Roscoe and Jody (Lisa) Williams of Lee’s Summit; two grandchildren, Taylor and Tyler; and 3 sisters, Suzie Evans, Doris (John) Hart and Donis (Don) Ross, 2 sister-in-laws, Beverly Marquis and Jude Nitsche, and many nieces, nephews and several friends.
