Sally Ann Woods “Newman” was born in Hiwasse, Arkansas to Richard and Martha (Funk) Almondinger. She passed away on Saturday, February 17th at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri after battling a lengthy illness.

Sally spent her professional life as a licensed beautician and enjoyed making friends and meeting new people and “making their hair look good”. She enjoyed music from an early age singing with her father and later in life singing with Rick and his band at various events. She loved all aspects of being on the farm; from flowers to gardening, canning and cooking, all of the animals and had three special canine friends “Lucky”, “Lady”, and “Sadie”.

Sally and Rick had taken several trips to multiple Midwestern states visiting the “Taste of Home Museum”, birthplace of John Wayne, the “Bridges of Madison County”, and Lewis and Clark Expedition boat. In 2016, over Thanksgiving they took a ten day trip traveling from Missouri to Monterrey Bay, California to visit Rick’s son and family, Joe, McKinzie, and Anna stopping to visit family and friends throughout the trip taking in a lot of scenery and visiting the western states for the first time. Sally and Rick enjoyed visiting Silver Dollar City multiple times throughout the years.
